If you are looking to throw a curve ball into your everyday wardrobe, start looking into purchasing a dinner jacket. The look is simply a men‘s (usually 2-button) sport coat worn over casual clothing. The trend is something we have seen grow through our photo archive, and is definitely a burgeoning trend. It’s trendy, yet far from being played out. These pictures were taken from each city and put together to show you a certain look that you can pull off with this new addition to your wardrobe. In these pictures you see them in corduroy, leather, wool, and cotton, all depending on what look you want to achieve. You will see these jackets being worn during the day for a really kicked-back progressive look, take the guys form L.A. for example. As you can see with the guy from Atlanta with the cream colored jacket, white shirt, blue jeans and tennis shoes, this look is in between dress down and dress up. Then you have the guys from San Diego and Chicago who wear it with the jeans sweater underneath and it gives it a nice night-on-the-town look. My favorite dinner-jacket look is the thrift-store jacket with the designer jeans and t-shirt. Whether you wear it with tennis shoes like the guy in Vegas, or with casual brown or black shoes, you give off a very progressive look. Dressy but yet fressed down Notice the guy from L.A. with the gray and white pin striped jacket with the green t-shirt and white belt. The look is versatile because it is dressy but casual. There is one main key we have figured out with these jackets. If you go back you will notice that all these jackets are single breasted with two buttons. I want to stress the notion of two buttons. Any more than two and you look “too” dressed up. You’ll see in the pictures the difference between the two styles. If you are going for this last look I am describing, it is important to realize that you might not want a brand new jacket. Go to a thrift store and you can pick up an ill jacket for under ten bucks. Then the last thing is to make sure that the jacket fits you, not too big and obviously not too small. The look is sick if you can pull it off correctly, so here are the pictures to help you .
